O-ou, it's a never ending story

This just keeps happening to me on my hunting trips. Yet another deer for me. We had driven hunt with men as there was a couple of wolves on the move today so dog owners didn't want to unleash their dogs. One guy from our entourage had just popped out from the forest near me as I was on my stand in the middle of the field. I was already walking away from my post thinking that nothing won't be coming anymore and the day is full. but no, this buck was on full throttle towards me in the middle of the field too. First I thought I would let him go but when he got 30 yards from me while passing I quickly put the red dot in front of him and squeezed my 798's trigger. Buck went down immediately but it wasn't my best shot. I wasn't concentrated enough while I was fighting myself whether to shoot or not. I hit him way too back where I wanted but kill is a kill. Ninth of the season. Freezers will burst after this one.

I think I might stop deer hunting and then get back into it a decade or two later if this is how it goes:jester: Can you hunt the wolves?

That's a mighty respectable buck right there. Good shooting. And what you expect? He was on the move when you shot. A moving shot is never as easy. You did well to put him on the ground in once shot.
    Daddy, what's an enabler?
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.

Yeah, moving target ain't easy. Though we practice it every summer with moving moose target. Around 350 rounds last summer for me. I'm pretty decent with it so I'm kinda disappointed to my shooting today. Last three kills have been right behind the shoulder blade with running animal. Last saturday's moose was an extra tricky one. A small opening in the field 110 yards away and the bullet hit into the text book place. Just as my last deer buck when I hit him on full throttle _twice_ behind the shoulder. This was today considerable closer although running as fast as he could. I just wasn't relaxed as I was thinking whether to shoot one more deer or not.
Luckily I hit him hard enough to fall on it's tracks. No unnesessary suffering for him.

No, we can't hunt them with out very, very special permit from the ministry or straight from the police to take away animals that threaten homes. Wolf is in the special sanctuary by the EU commission. F-word here...

Connecting with running shots on coyotes....sounds like you might be pretty good at it....it gets challenging when they hit the gas.....

Aah, sounds like fun. Propably best served with some AR or AK
I remember when I was serving in Finland’s military we used to shoot moving moose target with Sako’s rk62 (reincarnation of AK, best version there is. Even better than Galil in my opinion)
