I've got one I bought back when they were about $75.  It's marked .308 Winchester on the side, not 7.62 CETME.  I guess they were bored out from 7mm Mauser, but I don't know.  It's in really good condition, no breaks or missing parts.  I load down for it, and really don't have much use for it.  It's been hanging in my loading room for years.  I can't remember how it shot.

I heard some of the conversions to 7.62/.308 didn't work out so well on some MILSURPS in years past.

If it's a 98 action, the action is probably worth it.  Mine is a 95 Mauser action. Which is why I load down for it.

Now OOS, but I did sign up for the Desert Eagle contest just to make CPJ jealous!

Those Mausers look like they were recovered from a ditch in Flanders!

They're already listed 'Out Of Stock"! LOL! Couldn't pay me to light off a .308 Win. round in one. Might make a decent low pressure action for something like .30-30, or the .30 or .35 Rem. The '93 action is no fun to work with, though.

The 1916 Spanish SHOULD be a 98 action.

The ones in the video in the OP are definitely 1893 actions. NO bolt shroud on the rear of the bolt and no rear safety lug.

Maybe.  Mine is a 95 action, IIRC, although I've got a 93 in 7.65 which shoots fine.  I'm not sure, but I think the difference is in the extractor; the 93 has a fixed extractor, the 95 has a rotating extractor.  Teach will know for sure.

I had a 1916 Spanish Mauser converted to 308Win in the late 1980's. Shot the heck out of it. The only trouble I had it with it was a broken extractor.
