What the ... masculinity is a mental health issue according to the University of Texas?

https://pjmedia.com/trending/university-of-texas-to-treat-masculinity-as-a-mental-health-issue/

I know Austin is weird but damn Texas has been evaded by toooooo many people for college and from other liberal states. Is Texas going to have to build a wall and set its own immigration laws to keep its cojones?

ETA: damn if University of North Carolina doesn’t have about the same program ...

I see me uttering the words "go **** yourself" more and more frequently in my old age.

I must be sick as hell. Plus I am twisted.

Seriously, what parents are sending these “adults” out into the world without so much as a single damn clue?

My parents made damn sure that I had the ability to think for myself. All I had to do was apply it. My SR. year of HS I had exactly ZERO clues what I wanted to do with my life. I knew college was not going to be a good fit.

I told my parents I was enlisting in the Navy. The only thing they said was pick a job that will be a career. The rest was on my back. That was 14 years ago, I have been at my current job for eight years. Some days I still feel like I am making this up as I go along.

The one thing I know with absolute certainty. I have a duty to provide for my family. No matter what my career path is.

Success is realtive. Pick a damn career and run with it. Sack up and do the damn thing. No one in the real world cares and you are not special. You are owed nothing. Your life from here on out is on you. Get busy.

That got got kind of long, sorry. I have dealt with one too many fresh faced college grads who need someone to hold their hand.
I am afraid we forget sometime that the basic and simple things brings us the most pleasure.

I do have to confess that I more or less agree with the article - AS IT IS WRITTEN. "Masculinity" is a very confining box, and it doesn't have to be. But what else would you expect from a weird guy like me?

Now as far as masculinity being a "mental health issue", I'm not quite sure what they're driving at.

Keep one thing in mind......whatever comes out of any university should be regarded as Bull-Sheisen. The socialists that run these institutions are mentally defective, and their world is 180 degrees from "normalcy."

Women (Some and especially the feminist) want to castrate men so to speak until things go wrong and they can't handle it by themselves, then say you are a man, handle it!

The program is predicated on a critique of so-called “restrictive masculinity.” Men, the program argues, suffer when they are told to “act like a man” or when they are encouraged to fulfill traditional gender roles, such as being “successful” or “the breadwinner.”
     ...
“traditional ideas of masculinity place men into rigid (or restrictive) boxes [which]... prevent them from developing their emotional maturity.”

They do realize it works both ways..................

I guess, no more act like a lady little Suzy and it's okay to be an unsuccessful, broke, failure! You can cry it out later while your patting yourself on the back for being emotionally mature!!!!  :'( :'( :'( :'(

They need to go to Somalia and explain to the 9 year old carrying an AK-47 why it's important to be sensitive.

These people won't be happy until we're an unregonizable blend of unisex homosapiens.

More feminist BS from the left. I know there's a few jock types that suffer from over inflated egos, but when they get older and their testosterone levels dissipate a bit, they usually come down to our deplorable's level.
