His and Her's 1911's

Wife got her new Springfield Armory Officer Model 1911.  Received her CCL in the mail today.  She's deadly with her new gun and I've got say it shoots great.  Mine's a 70's Colt Commander 1911 slide and frame with Wilson Combat under the hood.  Great day shooting at our pistol range this afternoon!

Nice pair of pistols! Your wife has a seriously serious look on her face in that second photo. That look and that pistol would make ya sit up and listen if ya got her attention in the wrong way!
Great that she's got her CCL now, too.

    That's a nice little range.
You two would be hard pressed to be better armed.

Nice new pistol. I run Chip McCormick 7 rounders in my compact. Fit flush and with one in the tube, I have 8 in an Officer's platform. Nothing to sneeze at.

Denise runs seven rounders as well in hers.  I showed her the trick of rack a round, drop the mag and replace the one she loaded.

Both  nice guns, a 1911 has always been my favorite carry gun.

She loves shooting my 1911 when she wants to shoot.  She's tried all the 9's and 40's and she loves the 1911.  I was actually surprised she gravitated to and went with the smaller officer model. She's been shooting the same model at the gun range for the last couple of months and it's what she wanted, so we made it her mom's day present!

So was I when my wife did the same.  She had shot my Government sized guns quite a bit and liked them but the moment she hefted the light/compact UltraCarry she just said "mine".  Maybe the smaller guns are just easier for them to feel like they are able to control them?
Agreed! While I shot it a bunch and it shot well, I could definitely feel the whip on my wrists that I don't have with mine.  However, it's what she waned and likes and when mommas happy were all happy!

Nice guns, I have a 1911 .45 Auto, and it amazes me how the 1911 keeps going. There are more of them now than there ever was. I got mine in 1980, when there was only a few makers, and I am glad to see that it is still popular. Excellent choices.
