Thanks Ruger!

I sent in a Ruger Blackhawk 3screw to Ruger because the recoil plate(firing pin bushing in the frame) had recessed into the frame far enough to lock up the gun when shooting it. I knew it would be converted but oh well at least it would shoot and I could re convert it.

I just got off the phone with them. They told me the gun was not repairable it had excessive head space and the cylinder was out of specs. Crystal informed me that they would like to replace the gun with a new stainless or blue modern production model. Let’s see a new stainless BH for a broken reblued  nonshooting 3 screw? DONE! Love Ruger’s customer service!

This was a week and a half ago. This beauty came to my LGS today! I had the set of grips laying around waiting for the right gun. This IS the right gun! Oh it’s a 357 mag by the way.....

Nice.  Ned had to pay for part of his replacement gun he blew up.

This one was “on the House” so to speak. I bet it was because it was an unconverted 3 screw. If it had been a new model I bet I would have had to pay out. Ruger wants those three screws back or converted.

    Very nice.

You wore out an old school Ruger?  That's pretty impressive on it's own.

Agree; send one of those for repair and your original hammer/firing pin parts will come in a bag.
Those Blackhawks are GREAT shooters; they're being imported back here after MANY years (Late '80s probably) and some have already been pre-paid by SA enthusiasts that drolled over these revolvers for years; I was lucky enough to get one like yours some years ago and despite not liking lighter bullets, is quite accurate even with factory .38s

That is true; but, even so, Ruger had no fault in that issue and they still gave me a break on the replacement.
