Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill

I'd rather have my sister work in a whorehouse than own another Taurus!
I have not found anybody that makes a working rotary engine for scale model WWI R/C warbirds, but if scale model WWII warbirds are your thing, check this out.
It is a 1/4 scale P-47 Razorback with a Moki 400cc radial engine. The sound is incredible.
Simulation of a WW1 Rotary engine run by an electric motor set back into the fuselage .I used 2 rims from an AMT 57 Chevy model and brass tubing used as a drive coupling to the 7 cylinder engine.
Based on some quick research it appears that the 7 cylinder Oberursel U.0 and the 9 cylinder Oberursel U.1 rotary engines used in the Eindecker fighters were copies of the French Le Rhone engines built under license until the war started and then built without license during the war.
Here is a pinewood derby tank I scratch-built for my daughter a few years ago using aluminum tubing for the gun barrels and some parts from a model of a Messerschmidt ME262. It was fast, but not fast enough to win. I blame the antennas from the ME262 for creating too much drag.
As a lifelong warbird buff I always wanted to go into RC planes specially when I was a kid, but unfortunately the commies in power back then made VERY difficult and expensive due to importation restrictions of anything. Nowadays is a lot easier to get anything but no more time/space /money for additional hobbies.
No ,she is too heavy to fly but I too would like to learn to fly those foam Parkzone or Horizon planes but money is tight due to back to school fir the kids!
Ready to fly, including radio and batteries. My brother has one, it is very easy to fly.
Here is my Hobby Zone Super Cub. A little faster and more expensive (about $100) than my brother's but still pretty easy to fly. Mine is modified. I added wing struts and landing gear covers to make it look a little more realistic along with tires from a larger version to give it that bush plane look. It came with a fixed tail wheel. I replaced it with a pivoting tail wheel and made it steerable by linking it to the rudder. That allows me to taxi better. It has had its share of crash landings but the nice thing about a foam airplane is that you can just glue it back together. The last pic was the result of me misjudging the position of a concrete pole a few years back. The other pics were taken today. I have not flown it in a while, I need to invest in some new batteries and get it back in the air.
