One seagoing tugboat, plus one length of heavy rope, and the problem would have been solved in an ecologically sound manner. Just tow it out about 20-30 miles and cut it loose. EZPZ. But NOOOOOOO! Gotta try stuffing 40 pounds of taters in a 5 pound bag! :D:D:D:D:D:D

I'm surprised that NOAA didn't suggest towing it to sea and sinking it. Whale falls are prime grounds for scientific research.

You’ll NEVER convince me that plan wasn’t hatched by a couple guys sitting around laughing their asses off.

I concur...I can just hear it..."Let's blow it up!" "Oh HELL Yes!"

So necropsy the darn thing, then tow (or barge) it to sea...

They tend to be hard to tow and fall apart after necropsy. Plus paying for a decent buat to do that ain’t cheap.

Better to dig a hole and bury it post-necropsy. IF you can find a trailer to carry it in.

There are certain marine research institutes that will come and get it. At least on the West Coast, I'd think Woods Hole or somebody would be interested, but maybe not.

I remember that very well. Florence is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from my house.

Think we used enough dynamite there Butch?
