    I doubt French law allows deportation of one of its own citizens (While forcing them to stay in country is perfectly legal almost everywhere), since it would pretty much be removing its citizenship and turning him into a stateless individual, left stranded in a country that although original to their parents, now has actually no actual relation with them other than cultural ties.

    Very interesting reading; seems like radicalizing religion beliefs give those individuals the "structure" and "purpose" they never had in life; if born under the same conditions in say a Central American country, they'd probably have ended up in the Maras or any other gang, but the difference would have been the motives for its criminal activities, that in this case is murder for the sake of it disguised or justified by a religious construction.
