  Like Zorba said. You;ll have to spend the money on LED's. I need to for my Toyota pickup, in doing the research I need the additional wiring kit as the year mine is, Toyota used a positive ground for the headlights.

  Yeah, what Zorba said.  Get yourself an after-market headlight kit and upgrade what you have from a place like JEGS or Summit Racing.  It's well worth the money, and it's what I did to my Ram, except I have halo, projection lights which cost a little more.  BTW, I got my kit from an online performance dealer that specializes in Mopar stuff.  It took me about 30 minutes to install the kit.

  What he said.  I upgraded the headlights and fog lights on my 2010 GMC Canyon to LED's.  In comparison the factory halogens look like candles.  Pics part way through the conversion and after the conversion is complete:

  LEDs tend to look "whiter" to oncoming traffic, but that doesn't always translate to "brighter" on your side of the windshield.  Do you notice a difference in light quantity/quality?

  Oh yes!!!  Especially when they hit anything reflective.  Florida DOT puts reflective paint on everything.  The LEDs really light it up.  If you miss street signs in the dark in Florida when you have LED headlights then you might as well turn in your drivers license and hang up your keys, cause you are blind.

  Thanks for all the advise, i looked into all kinds of lights HID, LED, etc. it seems that for my truck i would have to do a complete wiring up grade, so for the time being im just gonna stick with what i have.

  You can get drop in LED bulbs that replace the old Halogens. Easy-peasy.

  I put LED lamps in my Dodge Caravan last year. It made huge difference!! Like 10Canon stated, anything reflective just pops out at you. The bad thing for me was driving while it was snowing. The light reflecting back off the snowflakes was almost blinding. I put my Silverstars back in for the winter.

  What Denny said is important.
  
  If fatigued at night, continuous head light reflection like from barrels or cones applied to lengthy lane closures can be real problematic.

  Just got a message from Teach, it seems i was on the right tract by using constant on solenoids, in Jerrys typical manner he managed  to fully explain to a non electrical person in simple terms how to do it, he even has a circuit diagram he will send to me.

  That. We have a 2000 4Runner used as a woods and cruising vehicle that was originally equipped with halaogen lights. Replaced the halogen bulbs with $30 LED bulbs. Huge difference.

  I've already updated the MBZ headlites once, when I put in a replaceable halogen bulb kit instead of the original sealed beams. Gonna update again to LED sometime when I "get there"...
