Started over new gas tax which was cancelled. Macron said let them carpool......(Let them eat cake.......) Gas over 7 USD a gallon. Morphed into other issues now.

They want Macron to step down.

The 'Yellow Vest' are using vests that are required in every vehicle for safety.

Interesting...........spreading to other countries now.

Well at least they reversed their gas tax - the idiots in Commiefornia voted to KEEP theirs.

The French have embraced socialism over several decades. All that free stuff was good! Until the chikkins came home to roost and pooped on their noggins. All that coddling from cradle to grave costs money, and France is running out of it. And all those 'refugees' they took in that promptly went on the government dole and sat back and waited for the checks to roll in, and refusing to work for a living helped accelerate the mess that France, Germany, Great Britain, and other European countries are experiencing with these parasitic refugees.

He made some concessions in his speech today (Macron) like no taxes on overtime and ordered companies to give bonuses to their employees.

Don't ask how he can do that, the gooberment has more control over private businesses over yonder.

They have lost billions in tourism and damage France can't afford..........

And lost sales/profits from stores that closed because of the rioting in their famous shopping districts.

A local former ambassador and very well-versed international annalist was explaining on TV that the people protesting seem to be not the usual pinko suspects (Commies, students, unionists, teachers and assorted red loonies) but the average no socialists-voters French white males that are fed up with the bureaucrats spending of money in "social justice causes" and pushing for more taxes and government regulations to fund them.

If true, France might eventually turn to the center right (Far right for the reds) like some European countries seem to be doing. Recently in a Spanish region where after some 50 years of socialist government, people gave voted for a relatively new right-leaning political party called Vox, which of course before the elections was either ignored or despised by the Spanish mass media.....sounds familiar?

Apparently the "Yellow vests" protests had some effect since news state that Macron and his cabinet met with their leaders and have expressed intentions of give up to at least some of the main demands....we'll see.
