    In the grand scheme of govt. spending, the cost of that party might only be pennies, but it adds up.

    Left-wingers are generally atheists so cancelling their Christmas party shouldn't upset them one bit. They can celebrate their "happy holidays" on their own dime, in a venue more suited to their unbelief.

    I wouldn't say that. I'd say a significant number are non-Christians, but not atheists. With that said, probably most atheists *are* democrats - the GOP has made it pretty clear that you should be Christian to be in their party. Which is a large part of the reason they keep losing elections, but I digress.
