Don't argue with those of lower intelligence. Either ignore them and agree and then move on.
Meh.

I can see how that is a problem.

How do we know if this person that we write off as stupid might only be ignorant? Should we also refuse enlightenment to the ignorant?

If someone is adamant about their opinion and they are obliviously ignorant, then they are stupid. This is the information age...the cure for ignorance is a click(s) away. Most people are willingly bound to their ignorance. There are only a few exceptions.

When our governing officials dismiss due process as mere semantics, when they exercise powers they don’t have and ignore duties they actually bear, and when we let them get away with it, we have ceased to be our own rulers.

If I have a disagreement with someone. It's always because they are wrong.

I was participating with a homesteading group for a period of time not too long ago...within a month or so I discovered that the level of stupid out there was monumental...things like

"I'm bleeding out of my ass...anyone know of any good home remedies?"
"Dude! You really need to get to a hospital!"
    " I don't believe in modern medicine..."

Stuff like that led me to the conclusion that there is an epidemic of idiocy out there and to avoid groups of people like that at all costs...

That's not something I have to worry about, according to everyone I know.

Lol! Reminds me of the folks who think vaccines are some ultra governemnt conspiracy to preform super secret mind control or some other tin foil hattery nonsense. But then again, there are those who insist that the earth is flat and that the Moon landings were filmed by Stanley Kubric when he was a secret operative for the CIA. Lol! Too bad those types never grew up in the early 20th century when the flu, TB and cholera were commonplace and wiped out people by the millions.
I draw the line with vaccines for things that the normal immune system can fight off. I’ll never understand why we are giving hepatitis C and HPV vaccines to babies.

Ordinarily I would agree totally, but the internet is full of lies as well as truth, and you have to be careful about where you get your "facts" from.

A stupid person is one who is unable to learn, not just unwilling to learn. An ignorant person is able to learn, but lacks the wisdom to do it, either out of impatience, laziness or maybe just because they enjoy being angry. Some folks believe that being angry about everything excuses them from the obvious 'pain' that pursuing a reasonable solution seems to always cause. It doesn't - it just makes people think that they are stupid.
