Got $200 worth of MasterCard and Visa gift cards. May be going back by that gun store to see if they still have that Howa 1500 on the used gun rack....
It's "interesting". The velco straps seem to be in not the best of locations for these two rifles. Elevation is a bit tricky - you adjust the legs of the tripod to point slightly lower than anything you think you'll need, then adjust the foremost leg inward to raise your muzzle. Not all tripods would work with this - if the 'pod has a dingus connecting the legs requiring them to all fold together, you're outta luck. Fortunately, this tripod isn't that type and works fine, as does the BOG version which you can also purchase.
The gun is well balanced and will twirl 360 with a touch!

I got very little for Christmas, I wasn't a real good boy this last year ya know. But I did get a zip up black hoodie and a small bottle of Jack Danials with a flask. I got my gift in the form of some very reasonably priced VX-3i Leupold scopes just before Christmas (Thank you TIMC and Ebay). I just love Leupold scopes no matter which model. I've got several VX-1s, one VX-2 and now 4 VX-3s. Oh, and one old Rifleman. That Rifleman is one of my favorite scopes. It just WORKS. Anyway, I also just enjoyed giving my new family a good Christmas. I gave each kid money and my wonderful wife some nice shoes and gift card. They were as happy as if I'd given them a million dollars.
Daddy, what's an enabler?
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.
Got a set of the new Craftsman 20V battery operated tools. 2 drills, flashlight, saw all and skilsaw.
And this.
Momma got her Mossberg 410 pump shotgun.
Dang! I'm jealous! I want a .410 pump. One of my cousin's husbands has an old Winchester Model 42. It's nothing but a Model 12 in .410. I've wanted a .410 pump every since I first saw that gun but I no longer have to have a Model 42 Win. I would love a Mossberg. What Model is it?

One of my grand daughters told her mama that grandpa likes toys, and he never gets one. Very perceptive. I, and all seven of the grand kids spent all afternoon with it, along with a couple of the other 'adult' children.
Bought myself the much needed gun safe. Other than that I got exactly what I wanted in socks and underwear. Thats all I ever ask for because I am pretty anal about them. I clean my drawer out at least twice a year. Can't stand when the cushioning goes out of either. If I was filthy rich I wouldn't wear a pair of socks or underwear more than a few times.
But I did go WAY overboard on my wife and kids. They were more than happy, so it made my Christmas. Now I just have to take my boy (8yrs old) to WWE Smackdown Live in Pittsburgh on Saturday. I'm not into wrestling but his favorite wrestler (Rey Mysterio) will be there. Watching his face will be the best gift I can get!!!!!!!!!!! And I got GREAT seats for him!
Rounded out my collection of John Gierach book collection (author of Sex,Death and Fly-fishing, Standing in the River Waving a Stick and others), got a new fishing sweater and some moccasins from Duluth Trading Company and a new fly tying vise....

I got three steel puzzles, and I was told I have a wooden puzzle box on the way. Wifey thinks I'm hell to shop for, but she knows I like the puzzles... a lot.

I wish I had room for a dart board, a pool table, and a foosball table, good choice.

Im sure my lawyer got something nice, as much money as I gave him. I did get the kids for the first time in 6 weeks for the holidays which was a lot of fun. They got a lot of toys with more to come with visits to other grandparents.

Oh yeah...almost forgot...two bottles of Glenmorangie Single Malt and a set of steel Craftsman cups...I normally only get one bottle of something I like so this was a bonus...

I got a dart board also. I've been tossing darts and having a few cold ones with my brothers-in-law now and then. Only problem is, they each have a dart board at their house. I didn't. So they whooped my butt. I made a comment that I was going to get one at my house, then they might have a problem whooping me so much. Guess Santa overheard that conversation.
Other than that, I got a Cabela's gift card and the biggest thing; Mom shocked me by ordering a new Ranch Hand brush guard for my new truck.. Feel very blessed and appreciative that she did that.
I bought for myself this year so I upped the collection got a Kimber Pro Carry 1911 , a SIG P365 9mm , a Sig 226 in 40 cal. and a Taurus Judge for my nightstand gun

I always end up sleeping with my head resting on my arm. Makes my arm fall asleep and now I am getting shoulder pain.
I keep seeing these pillows but haven't pulled the trigger yet....

Youngest daughter bought me an Extremeglas 32 oz water bottle. Has a window to see how much water is in it. Drink two and you have the recommended daily amount (64oz) of water. Just a guideline, I know.
Anyway, had all 4 filters replaced on my Culligan under the sink reverse osmosis water filter. Actually 3 are filters replaced yearly and one is called a 'membrane' replaced every 5 years.
May as well start using it and not so much bottled water. Just keep some around in case the power goes out and the well won't run.

I built a knife pretty similar to that a few years ago.
That's a good looking knife. Made from scratch or was it a kit blade?
Sako
It was a kit blade, so to speak. I haven't got a forge going yet. Ordered the blade blank, scales and already had pin material. It was a pretty quick one to do, just for fun. Cut, attach and shape the scales, pe-en in the pins, sand, finish and polish. Just another practice blade. Think the whole thing cost about $20 to do.
Even those beat the ones that come with the board.
Thanks for the link. I've looked around at some on Amazon, but wasn't real sure where to even start. I'll be ordering a set soon.
In my younger years, I was much more of a pool player. Never really got into darts. But it's fun and takes up much less space than a pool table. But much like there's a huge difference in using a nice pool cue, I'm sure the same is true for darts.
Academy is probably a great idea. Problem is, I avoid my Academy like the plague right now. Due to construction on the freeway and the overpass that goes to the Academy being rebuilt, traffic is a royal PITA trying to get there. Amazon Prime, free 2 day shipping, done...
Also agree on the difference between $20 darts and $200 ones. I'm never going to be anywhere near good enough to justify any more than $20-40.
