R&D 103......One from the skunk works.
What were they thinking with this ?
Barrel is 26" long and .900 at the end.
I don't know savage rimfires well anyone recognize the bolt type, safety mag etc. ?
I don't recall seeing anything quite like it.
I do want to test it out though.
I nicknamed it the Beast.
Oh it is only a 22 LR

The barrel is marked Savage and Westfield,Ma.
With the R&D on the receiver I'm thinking a factory experiment. They did keep a ledger of R&D guns numbered/stamped like this.
The right leg is a bit weaker stamped
It may be indicative that the rifle has see through mounts but no front sight???

Stevens model 34
Marlin model 80
Squires Bingham model 16 (Armscorp formerly Kasnar)
This is an interesting statement about the Ranger model 103-2.
Hmm? I'll have to look into it further.

I was kind of thinking the same about anschuz with one of their single shots IIRC.
May be from around the time they started importing them ?

Looks to me like something you and CPJ would throw together.
Btw the trigger is light and crisp with no take up I expect some pretty good results at the range.....even with me behind it.
The barrel stamp
A better picture of bolt
Trying not to dry fire it is bad enough.
If it's not a total tack driver I figure it will be easy to get my money back.
