New York is getting what they voted for!
This morning all of the heads have been talking about Amazon's decision to not build their new headquarters/distribution center in New York. New York's newly elected congressperson fought pretty heavily against the deal and consider's the loss of 25,000 jobs averaging $150,000.00 a year as a victory. She stated that it showed that "the little guy" can say "no" to the richest guy in the world. I'd bet her constituents would rather see the jobs and revenue than pat her on the back about driving Amazon away.

There's a few reasons why the Boeing 787 is built in S. Carolina and not Renton. Unions are number 1.

Based on what I read about that Boeing move, corporate greed was reason number 1. My understanding was the move was in place before the union argument came up due to cheaper labor in SC as it was. Much like Harley using the tariffs as the reason for moving some production over seas. They had been talking about it for years as a way to reduce labor cost and increase profits. The Tariffs were a convenient excuse to make it look like it wasnt just a way to cut costs and increase profits.
I would like to know where Amazon is coming up with 25k jobs averaging $150k a year. That number seems a bit unrealistic if you do the math.
For a corporation as large and profitable as Amazon in that area, the number is very realistic.

Amazon is also setting up shop in Nashville Tennessee. Nashville has been run by a bunch of liberal idiots for decades, surrounded by a state full of considerably more intelligent rednecks, but they're not as stupid as that bunch of damyankee fools in Noo Yawk!

No no............ She has it all figured out!
Ocasio-Cortez: We can invest that $3 billion in our district
The figures that they claimed were that 3 billion in tax incentives would have generated 27 billion in revenue to New York over 25 years.

A few years ago, Nissan moved their USA headquarters from California to Nashville Tennessee after having a couple of big manufacturing plants here for several years. It wouldn't surprise me if the planned Amazon move of a distribution center to Nashville might suddenly turn into a LOT bigger operation. Tennessee real estate is a lot more plentiful AND affordable, the tax base is totally different, and we don't have a bunch of obnoxious damyankees for them to have to put up with!
