Found a drum on sale for the VEPR12, been wanting to get one just for giggles and the price was right so....

the drum is kinda bulky and wouldn’t want it for full time use but thought it may be fun when I was in the mood to burn some ammo. I figured since I got it might as well post some shotgun porn.

As pictured it is loaded with 25 rounds of 00 buck shot. Each round has 9 .32 caliber pellets meaning it will launch 225 .32 caliber pellets in a very short time.

Haven’t tried the drum yet but the shotgun with the 8 and 10 round mags shoots flawlessly even with bird shot. The gun has amazingly light recoil but then it’s pretty heavy so that has a lot to do with it.

You could get 3-5 dove before you needed to reload!! According to F&G hunter average a box of shells.

Carolina shooters supply had them on sale and for a new customer another 10% off which brought it down to $89.
i was already a customer so I used a new email address and got it done!

Tempting.......but with that drum my VEPR would eat more than the two teenagers I still have at home. I would have to take out a second mortgage on my house to feed it.

If yours runs as good as mine I can completely understand. Since I did all the upgrades I can even run Winchester white box ammo flawlessly.

I have not yet found anything mine won't eat. The only upgrade I have done is put a red dot sight with laser on it.

Mine was pretty tight at first. I changed buffer and springs, put in a 3.5lb trigger, added a tromix bolt knob, new gas piston and hand guard.

From what I have read they can be great right out of the box (mine was).....or not. Only had one stovepipe early on and have had one FTF but that one was the ammo. Had a good solid firing pin strike on the primer but did not light off.
Since then I have run hundreds of rounds through it with no problems. Mine was built by the FIME group, what about yours?

Didnt know there were different builders of Molot guns. Mine just says MOLOT.

They are all born in the Molot factory, but they have to have a certain percentage of American parts to be legal....one of the games the government plays. There are different importers who change out different parts to fulfill the requirements.

I think I paid $685 for mine when I bought it, it’s been a while. I put that much if not more in it with upgrades. It ran fine with high velocity loads when I got it but would not run light loads. After the upgrades I can run low recoil bird shot through it.
i keep mine loaded with 00 buck just for home defense. No chokes on this gun the barrel is threaded externally. Within 50 yards pretty much all the pellets using 00 buck stay inside a man size silhouette.

Looks like the price has dropped a little since I bought it 2 years ago. It comes with a single 5 round factory magazine, not the 10 round magazine it is pictured with. I ordered three factory 10 round magazines with it as well as the muzzle brake, recoil pad and Russian military sling. Everything was about $1,500 all together. However, mine ran pretty flawlessly right out of the box so I did not have to spend anything on upgrades. I can even mix high brass loads and low brass loads in the same magazine and it does not care. Be aware that especially if you get the version with the wood furniture instead of polymer like timc's it is a very large and heavy beast. Here is a pic of mine next to my Savage MSR-15 Patrol for comparison:

The weight, muzzle brake, gas system and recoil pad tame the beast pretty well though. Recoil is not bad.......for a 12 gauge. If you opt for the muzzle brake anyone within 10 ft. can feel the concussion when it goes off. It is tame enough that my daughter shoots it:
As timc mentioned, the barrel is externally threaded and there are choke extensions available. You can even get a rifled choke for slugs, but with a 19" barrel I don't really see the need. This is a 5 shot group of slugs at 50 yards from mine without a rifled choke:
Mine came with a picatinny rail for optics but it also has iron rifle sights on it, not just a bead like most shotguns. They are fairly short radius though. Overall, this thing is a hoot to shoot. I would love to get a drum for it, but that would significantly increase my ammo bills.
