And while it may not be important to you... it was worth at least $250,000 to him, for us not to know. It wouldn't be worth a quarter million bucks if it wasn't to get the job under false pretenses.
Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it.
How is this any different than Camel Toe Harris combining the world's oldest profession with the second-oldest to climb to the top of the Commiefornia political dung heap and become a senator, and a presidential candidate? She even did it with the knowledge and probably the encouragement of the guy's wife! Oh, I forgot- - - - -that's a good thing when the dems do it!
How is it any different? It isn't. Trump is just as much as a giant sleazy turd as Harris is. They are both scum. But one is a wanna be. The other is actually president.
Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it.
So, you now want everybody to condemn Trump for moral sins of the past, based on accusations by a couple of sleazy lawyers who are going to jail, soon, for lying. Sure, where there is smoke, there is often fire, so let's just assume that Avenato and Cohen told the truth, for once, and that the Russian dossier had 1% of truth inside of it. So what? -to borrow from the Democrat Party response, when confronted by hard evidence (pardon the pun) of Slick Willy diddling an employee that was about the same age as his daughter, not to mention all of the other women he supposedly ruined, for which there was at least as much evidence as there is against Trump.
This is what politics has become, thanks to people who cannot compete in the arena of ideas. Character assassination is the name of the game, because the majority resoundingly responded to Bill Clinton's low character with "we don't care." Who cares when it all started - it is what it is, to use your excuse for not being outraged. It may have always been this way, and the voters just never found out.
I can't speak for others, because I don't understand their reasoning, and they don't understand mine. But I can say that this is the state of politics, in the early 21st century. We have been reduced to a pool of politicians to choose from that we would not trust to run a garage sale. There are still good people out there, but, they aren't street fighters who are willing to debate ambulance chasers and carnival hawkers about everything in the world except how to solve the real problems. Everybody uses whoever they can get that knows how to play the game and accomplish their 'ends,' by whatever 'means' are necessary. I don't like it, but the stakes are too high to quit the game. I just hope my S. O. B. is tougher than their S. O. B.
You cannot possibly believe that all previous presidents were moral icons. I don't, and if this one accomplishes half of his stated agenda before he drops dead, he will have at least one worthwhile accomplishment in life - something that few politicians of this era will be able to claim. It's not a Dr. Seuss story that we would want to read to our children to make them feel warm and fuzzy, but it might someday pass for a good survival story.
I don't really care so much about the president's morals than I am curious as to why members here feel the need to defend/justify them. I mean if your name was Sean Hannity, Kellyanne Conway, or Sarah Sanders I can see it-- it is their job to put a favorable spin on this stuff and of course the left has its own set of hacks doing the same thing. Why is it necessary to warp reality like this?

This segues, perhaps, into what I see as an unfortunate trend among employers: That of thinking they own you 24/7/365 - hence Jay's comment about "not on the people's time".
In other words, in my world, its 8 hours pay for 8 hours work, and the relationship ends there. What you do on your time off away from work is your own business and your employer shouldn't have any say about it whatsoever - with the caveat that you're not pretending to represent said employer during such times.
Its the same way about Trump's escapades. They're between Trump, the women involved, and his God/Gods/Goddess/Goddesses/trolls/whatever - if he isn't "on the clock", I don't care either. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

Doing it on the peoples time is nothing as he is on duty 24/7. But doing it in the Oval Office just doesn't sit right with me. I am sure WJC was not the first and I doubt the last, but it's just a place you shouldn't to me. Kind of like you shouldn't in church

In the Oval Office doesn't sit right with me either - that's DEFINITELY "on the people's time".
Absolutely! What the man did with his money or his genitalia or what he said before he was elected is of no concern to me... However.what any elected official does "on my time" most certainly is

Speaking for myself, only, I would point to the way George W. Bush was cowed by the media assault he endured without counter-punching, for at least six years of his eight. It is irrelevant to this topic, as to whether or not he was right about anything. The lesson is that 'taking the high road,' (his excuse for not fighting back) has lost its luster with the public.
Wage - earning family men and women voters want results, and finally understand that they can only get that, in this radical era, by using a Bulldog - not a Golden Retriever. Diplomacy and statesmanship, with all of its charm and politeness, is gone, and that has never been demonstrated better than with the crumbling of GWB's presidency.
Obama was elected because Republicans tried to hold on to that tradition, by choosing candidates like McCain and Romney, who both had vast amounts of political ammunition that they refused to use, while the DNC and the media was using anything they could lay their hands on, or invent, to destroy their opponent. Trump was the answer for 'total war' politics, and when his usefulness has been fully exploited, he will be discarded like any other 'war-time' leader, whose breeding and character does not measure up to peacetime standards.

Where is reality being warped? Not seeing anyone defending or justifying Trumps actions.
Slick Willy did these things while in office and had his staff and his wife attack those that came forward (me too movement much). All the dems said "we don't care". Trump banged a couple tramps before he ever thought about running and those same people tried to crucify him for it. Pretty sure it's the hypocrisy that gets peoples blood boiling.
Politics has become the equivalent of a MMA cage match in the past couple of decades, and Republicans insist on fielding candidates who are in the quintessential "98 pound weakling" category. For instance, Bob Dole, John McCain, Mitt Romney, etc. couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag, politically speaking. Even when they happen to win, like GWB did, they get sand kicked in their faces by the dem beach bullies. Now we've got a brawler who uses his enemies' tactics against them, and they're crying "FOUL!" I don't care if he keeps the Lincoln Bedroom reserved for high priced hookers, as long as he uses his own money to pay them!
His candidacy announcement hit the slime box today.
He looked like a Saturday Night Live commedy skit on tv. He's going to accomplish something now. Personal public disgrace and further erosion of the DNC. Maybe too early for Trumpers to tap the keg. Maybe not.
It's amazing that he has managed to skate by in politics for 41 years without really doing anything. In all that time he has only introduce that one bill and now he thinks that he can run the country. The only reason he was even chosen as Obama's running mate is there was little threat of him being motivated enough to interfere with anything that Obama was doing.
The socialists are already signalling that they don't want Biden. AOC doesn't want a reversion 'all the way back to the Obama administration,' and the mainstream Democrats don't want Bernie. So, it's shaping up to be Harris and Buttigieg. California has moved their primary up to give Harris a boost, and if she wins it, she is the favorite, unless one of her opponents finds some better dirt on her.
If Biden or Camel Toe are the best the dems can scrape off the bottom of the barrel, both of them should just find a comfortable spot on the tracks to rest their necks as the Trump Train approaches!
I've seen several clips of his speeches where he announces that he want to bring back a country that's ethical, honest, and straight. I'm kinda interpreting the "straight" part of his statement as anti gay. Is anyone else seeing that?
I'm a bit confused too, if this is indeed the case. The GOP has driven anyone/everyone out that doesn't conform to their narrow worldview, so where else is the LGBTEIEIO group going to go? If the GOP was actually for smaller gov't, less interference with people's lives, etc, etc, they'd have a fair number. But they're not, and they don't.

People like the Log Cabin Republicans, Pink Pistols, NAMBLA, etc. are welcome to practice all the disgusting perversions they want- - - - -just keep it behind the bedroom door and don't try to shove it down everybody else's throat. They'll have an eternity to regret their decisions- - - -no point in making a fuss about it now!
That is the core of the problem: Shoving it down everybody else's throat. Both sides are guilty as Hell of it, and most people are sick and tired of it.

Straight as in not a crook/crooked?
Maybe he's just not current on modern slang and terminology.
