Wolf trapping in Idaho
Saw something today about the wolf population in Idaho being out of control and bounties being offered ($1 000 was the amount mentioned) with the trapper keeping the pelt...Califfl have you heard anything similar?

Non-hunters are complaining loudly, but the wolf numbers are increasing by ~1000 per year. IMO, the wolf numbers could be kept in check if the elk and deer hunters didn't hang up their rifles when the ungulate seasons end.
Wolf trapping is a PITA and expensive. There's an eight hour mandatory class. There's a pile of regulations concerning non-target species. In winter, it's nearly impossible without a snowmobile. The hides aren't worth anything. Just not enough hobbyists participating.
