Netflix “The Irishman”

We watched Netflix the Irishman last night. It’s painfully long 3.5 hours. It drags drags a long. Pretty educational on the mob and Jimmy Hofa. Did I say it’s really long, painfully long.

If if you’ve got 3.5 hours to kill go for it.

Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

Isn't DeNiro in this?  That's enough for me not to watch it.

The only thing I've liked that had DeNiro in it was "Goodfellas", and that's because the other characters were good enough that I could mostly ignore him.

The site is buggered again.  I now have to respond to every thread in order to make them update for me, otherwise they will disappear into lala land...  :/

I actually liked it. It was long and was drawn out in places. If we never watched a movie with people that we don’t agree with politically there wouldn’t ever be anything to watch.

I don't have a clue what DeNiro's politics are. I just don't much care for DeNiro as an actor. Much like I never considered the Three Stooges the epitome of comedy.

His overblown views turn me off to watching anything new, but I have to say, he was one of the best Frankenstein monsters. I enjoyed the heck out of that. Not for the queasy.

He wants to punch out Trump and considers him a fake president, and he speaks as if his opinions matter.

    Now you know.

I just don't like DeNiro period. Don't care what his politics are. If he showed up at a summer party in my backyard wearing a tee shirt, flip-flops, sunglasses and just being a regular guy, I'd still sic our cat on him.

DeNinro is a liberal who is an enemy of Trump.

DeNiro is an ass and I hate his personality and politics, but we watched the movie last night.  A little draggy as others have said but having lived in New York during this period of time made the movie pretty interesting to me and wife who’s a native New Yorker and her dad was in the construction business and Iron Worker’s unions in NY.

I liked him in quite a few movies.  He was great in Taxi Driver,  Meet the Parents, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, a Bronx Tale, funny as hell in Analyze This, and he was superb in Men of Honor.  I don’t want to take away from his talent as an actor.  He’s made me laugh my ass off and hate him in different roles which gives him a lot of range.   He is a complete ass in his personal life but so are many others.

Don't forget "Heat"....EXCELLENT shootout scene. "Awakenings" was good too since it's not easy to portray such kind of roles.

Was good in "Taxi driver"; also makes good papers in mob films but don't like movies where organized crime is even slightly glamourized. Like most Hollyweird he's probably an a$$.

That reminds me, I need to get me one of those attack cats.

As for the movie, I've been really curious. Can't stand DeNiro either, after he became so vocal but more than that, I just can't sit still for more than about 90 minutes for a flick these days. Guess I'm just getting a bit long in the tooth...
