Otherwise It won't update that I've read a thread

and now all the threads that wouldn't quit showing as unread, and making me start at the OP to see if anything new had been posted are "fixed"

You putting your period in every post is screwing it up for everyone else.

So in addition to chasing threads that I have read that aren't marked as such, I have to also contend with chasing threads with new posts that only consist of "."?

Yea... please don't do that. It may make things easier for you, but it makes it even more frustrating for the rest of us.

I have to go against the flow here. The periods are helping me gain a sense of closure.

I see that the few posts that did not update do and the rest of them do not.

No need to use the period.  You have my permission to copy and paste this:

The site is buggered again.  I now have to respond to every thread in order to make them update for me, otherwise they will disappear into lala land...

And now the site is adding a carriage return every time I use one...  :#

    this is a test

    the test failed

I wanted to delete the post

site won't let me delete the post, just change it; so to delete the post one has to delete the msg and put something in the comment------a period is the easiest something...………...

Deleting a post is one thing. Doing to every single post you read is just a paint for everyone else
