PSA for hog hunters

I was listening to a farm show today and they were discussing feral swine and the diseases they carry. One big one is leptospirosis but what I didn't know is humans can catch that also. In cattle the main concern is abortions so if you have a wife that hunts with you it would be wise to check this out. They didn't spend much time on the human part , mostly talked about cattle.

    I have killed a few pigs. I have never worn “protection”.

    Hell, with as bad as the fleas are with some of the pigs I kill...........I strip down to my skivvies to clean them and then spray off with the water  hose to remove the fleas. 

    Literally. I clean them in my underwear. The fleas can be so bad.

    You SHOULD notice an inverse relationship between fire ant concentration and flea concentration.  Fire ants eat fleas and ticks- it's probably the ONLY good thing about the damn things.

    Zee, I was not worried about you or any other male or non pregnant female. Who I wouldn't want to expose is someone pregnant. You can do whatever you like. I have never seen fleas on a pig, must be some Texas thing. Now lice is another matter.

    That’s not how you do it!  You drop a cup of Lysol into the toilet bowl followed by the cat.  Close the lid and after 2-3 minutes of the cat trashing around you flush 3 times.  Clean cat!!!

    I hope you guys are happy.  My cat was happily perched on my shoulder when I opened this thread.  Now she's hiding under the bed.  Lord knows what it will take to get her out of there.
