Shooting at Ft. Worth church

No doubt everyone knows about this. It happened about 40 miles from where I used to live, and the good guy who brought it all to an end is from the town I recently moved from. All I can say is thank God and Texas that guns are allowed in churches.
In case you haven't seen it, I found a video that shows the shooting. It's not easy to watch, but impressive as hell.

Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.

Good call.
If it gets too confusing, I'll either dump or merge one.

“It is irrational, with all due respect to the governor of Texas, it’s irrational what they’re doing,” Biden said in September following a mass shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. "I mean every day, you see a mass shooting."

Also, according to reports I have read, the shooter was known to the security force of the church and had made threats on the pastor's life. I live about 200 miles from where this happened, and Sunday was a fairly warm day, certainly not the kind of day one would normally wear a long coat. Seems like that should have been a clue.
With all that said, I now have to wonder why the security folks didn't pat him down before allowing him into the church. Better yet, why allow him in at all?

How to translate that into simple irrefutable logic for mass consumption, I don't know???
More details in this morning's news.
