New addition to the family.
In the normal odd twist of fate that life does, we got an addition to the family. A dachshund breeder my wife knows is getting out of the business for personal reasons. She has an all-black dachshund purebred female, 16 months old, that she wasn't going to breed anyway. She is about an inch taller than normal and about 9 pounds. She drove across the state with another puppy that is going to fly out to Oregon today.
Her name is Gypsy right now. Wife wants to rename her Poppy as it sounds similar. I semi-insisted Daphne as Poppy gives me a cavity just listening to the name.
We've had her for a couple hours, she is settling right in.
