New Optic needed

Diver43Diver43 Posts: 12,777 Senior Member
A few years back while taking the long way home from the South East Shoot, we stopped in Ft Walton Beach to visit the wife's brother.  Of course had to stop in a Gun Store. Ended up leaving with a SW 22A-1.  Had a cheap Bushnell Red Dot in the loft and put it on.  The thing turned out to be a tack driver.  It kind of went to the back of the safe as new guns came in the house.  I pulled it out today knowing it would need new batteries.  I put a new CR2032 in it and the dot was nice and bright, but it was hazy and looked dark.

I now desire to put a new optic on it.  Scope, Red Dot, Reflex???
The gun goes to the range and puts holes in paper and when someplace I am able, make a pop can dance, just informal plinking.

What do you guys think I should get, keep in mind i don't want to break the bank

What's your budget? Version 1 Holosun 407C's can be found for under $200. Or, there's always the Vortex offerings.

Post a pic. I’ve no clue what that gun is.

    Questions:
How far do you want to shoot it?
How fast do you want to shoot it?
At WHAT do you want to shoot it?

    Budget?  Under 200
    Not familiar with Holosun
Forgot about Vortex  even if i already have a couple

How Far?  Mostly 25 yards or less Once in a while stretch it
    Fast?  Its a fun gun
What?  Targets pop cans and such
Not sure what that is on top of it. It's long gone

I’m mostly a scope guy on handguns.
I have one Vortex Venom I tried on a Glock and disliked. Now it’s on my GP-100 for hunting.
I have an AimPoint H2 on a Ruger Mark 22/45 that I really like.
    Otherwise.........it’s scopes and precision.
I’m not much help on current electronic offerings below $200.

I am in no hurry. I can wait until I find something on sale or closeout, maybe even gently used.
