We attended church yesterday...

for the first time since the lockdown. We had been watching sermons that were streamed, but this was actually attending in person. It was great.
There were some restrictions, though. The main worship center is a large building that can hold 700-1000 people, and is often full. Each Sunday there are three different sessions. We usually go to the 10:30 one, and it is usually full. However, for yesterday, and for a while to come, seating is at less than half capacity.
All seats are rows of padded chairs. For yesterday, every other row was removed. Family units could sit together, but there had to be at least two seats between each family unit. Because of this, we had to reserve our place in advance, and bring a ticket with a bar code printed on it.
The offering plate was not passed. Instead, there were drop boxes along the wall that one could drop their offering/tithe into.
When the sermon was over, we were asked to file out in an orderly manner, by row, and not until given the green light by church volunteers.
Masks were not required, but social distancing was enforced. Sort of. Hand sanitizer was provided for those who wanted it.
When we got there, we were not allowed to enter until we had checked in and everyone from the previous session had left the building.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience. We are grateful to attend live services. And, I believe that what I have posted above demonstrates that it is possible for folks to attend church services and stay safe.
