AP article on Coronavirus

I just found this on Twitter. I thought it was a pretty good explanation on the issues doctors and scientists are having with the virus.

Anyway, who cares - there's a protest I need to watch on the 'News' and the latest Survivor episode begins tonight - /sarc.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths worldwide per one million population as of July 17, 2020, by country
There's even a video floating around online where a state official admits during a news conference, that if you die, no matter the cause, and test positive for "the rona", you're listed as a corona death
The govenor here declared mandatory masks in public places. There's an implied threat of more future shut downs if noncompliance is perceived or declared as a cause for increased transmission.
There are people loosely gathered in mass daily at work conducting business successfully without any big transmissions of infection. Same faces day in, day out. We're cleaning, disinfecting, wearing the masks etc..
Will these circumstances remain unchanged? I don't know.
The local governments went as far as shutting down streets so restaurants could put tables outside. People have to get stupid, swarm the streets, get stupid drunk then fight and shoot each other. They also have phone numbers to turn in neighbors that have parties. What have we become? Is Covid-19 being used to cover a take over and control of people? Down here is seems history is repeating itself
"If you get it and didn't work for it, someone else worked for it and didn't get it..."
If my (poor) math doesn't fails me, that puts us in a BY FAR grim worldwide 1st. place with 1,666 deaths per million, a truly horrible situation.
Why if we were the 1st. in S.A. to go into a strict military-enforced full quarantine that lasted over 100 days? Simply thanks to years of socialist policies that gradually hampered private investments with more and more bureaucratic procedures, increasing numbers of public servants, wasted resources in needless, overpriced public infrastructure projects and virtually zero growth of the taxpayers base with increasing tax pressure that forced 75% of the economical and working population into informality.
Thanks to this when the need to buy medical supplies and increase ICU space in public hospitals, theoretical Marxists inside the State engaged in a "class war", blaming the private sector, their political rivals, throwing smokescreens, paying the media with State advertisement to hide the complete collapse of the health system and economy and the people that had to work no matter what since savings, banks, credit cards, financial loans and other economic tools are as unreachable as the Moon to 90% of the population.
Main causes of deaths have been the lack of medical oxygen for the people in ICU, lack of basic medical equipment, drugs and hospital beds.
Thank God still able to "leave in a bubble" and so far most friends and family remain safe, but economic damage is huge; many have lost their jobs, savings and businesses, putting us in the verge of the worst crisis of the last 120 years. Those in power remain stubborn applying over and over the same ideologically-charged policies and with an election next year that will probably put in power, best case scenario, a left-wing populist, there's little if any hope for a future down here.
A real tragedy.
