The best bacon burger ever.
This was an odd preparation but it works wonders. Shamelessly stolen from Cook's Country because....bacon.
12 ounces bacon
2 pounds of ground beef (edited-wasn't quite awake)
salt
pepper
garlic powder
1) Whir the bacon in the food processor until it's a pink paste. Trust me.
2) Par-cook the paste until you have a roughly equal mix of browned and pink bacon. Drain with a fine mesh strainer or pour off what you can (reserve for onions if cooking those then place on a paper towel, and let cool for a minute or 5
3) Place the ground beef onto a cookie sheet and separate into 4 patties, then add salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. Add the partially cooked bacon and mix with a fork. Try not to overwork the beef or it will make the burger tough
4) That will make some large burgers, make sure to leave a thumb-sized divot in each and fry that side first so they don't end up a softballs.
5) Optional: Fry onions in some of the bacon grease and add cheese before serving.
I was going to take pictures but it smelled SO awesome that the wife and I couldn't wait. You won't be able to either. Enjoy.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

I used some soft large rolls that were on clearance, but I'd get those large sesame burger buns they normally use for pulled pork too.

our local burger chain, Burgerville has a Tillamook-pepperbacon-cheeseburger that i love.

On a related note. I hate burger joints (looking at you Five Guys) that cook their bacon in the deep fryer. That isn't a good texture for bacon

2 pounds (32oz) divided by 4 is 8oz.
Sounds good though
As others have said, I prefer my bacon crispy on top though
