Old Marlin 780 Take Down Screw Torque
Hello all!
i have an old Marlin 780 .22 S/L/LR with wood stock. According to the serial number it’s from 1977.
i just took it apart to refinish the stock and it has 1 take down screw which connects the stock to the Action.
When I put it back together does anyone know the correct torque for that screw? I can’t find it anywhere online. Or what would be a good estimate if you don’t know?
thank you!

I called Marlin regarding torque for a similar rifle, they recommended 30 inch pounds. Give them a call to check yours
