Friday's fifth deer for the season

Nice weather lured me to grab my gear and drive my one hour drive to my hunting areas. I decided to go once more to the field I have been hunting this first month of the season.

Weather was beautiful until it suddenly started to rain after just 30 minutes I had been there. Great!

Luckily it stopped after a while. I was wetted but not completely. Grey skies opened up for a few minutes and the world looked beautiful.

At 7:15 p.m. I saw couple of deer in the distance as they came onto the field to eat. They were about 330 yards away from me and I decided to wait for a while as I had some time left until it would be too dark to shoot. I had to wait about ten minutes as they slowly were moving towards me while they were pasturing the fresh seeding from the fallen peas.

When they reached the 275 yard distance I took other one on my crosshair. I put it in the line of her back and slowly squeezed Mauser's trigger. "Piew" it went and in less than a second the slapping sound of the hitting bullet reached my ears. As I looked the deer I immediately  saw it crumbling and it managed to run 30 yards until it collapsed.

Great ending for the nice evening.
