280 Rem: Berger 168gr Classic, IMR4350

Got to the range this evening.  Took the 280Rem.

I have a very promising load of 52.2gr of IMR 4350 pushing a 168gr Berger Classic.  2728 fps.  And not a hint of pressure signs.  More to come as reloading days and range days present themselves.

Hows your pre-hunting season loads coming?

Envious! Florida land regulations for even feral animals is very restrictive.

I got a few places to get to this year but it’s freaking 80 degrees out today.  I need to move..... 🤬

Had the current primary sorted three years ago, but thanks for askin'  :)

Headed up tomorrow to see if I can finally deploy one of them.

Excellent load there.  I'm hoping I can inch up to a 5 shot average of 2750 and I'll stop there (as long as accuracy remains). 52.2 is a published max.  Which means 53.2 is probably possible with a safe approach.

If you're going to load over published max, work up to it slowly on a hot day.  The ambient air temps could affect pressure.  If you work up the load on a cold day, only use it on similar days.

A friend of the forum (Linefinder, you got your ears on?) has advised this in the past.

Dang, you got 3000 out of a scout length barrel AND that group, very interesting, that should smack a whitetail nicely.
