REALLY painful to watch...

Someone posted the in my company's forums and I had to share it here.  My first reaction was to laugh, and then I started getting angry that someone would let this group shoot at their range without an RO or instruction.

At just past 4:40 you can see a ND immediately followed by a second shot into the ceiling of the range.  More safety issues  than I'll ever be able to count.  There's a range not to far from me that caters to tourists and it looks an awful lot like this on a busy day...

Holy Goddess Mother, and Whiskey, Tango, the Foxtrot?!!
At least they kept the muzzles pointed downrange. Mostly. Most of the time...
I've seen worse - like the kid with a .22 rifle at the indoor range I went to in California. The upper baffles - like what got hit in this video - were already shot to Hell, but this kid managed to hit them several times, to the point of where a chunk actually fell off.
What was up with the one gal who kept stuffing her head in the corner? Never saw anything like that before! I like her hair though...
Just got back from the range myself, I'll post a couple of targets for your review after I mow the grass...

Yeah that chick that kept trying to fire the gun while shoving her head into the lane dividers was just weird.  If that was my range they would have all been escorted out...  crazy!!!

There were so many dangerous things happening that it almost seemed like a scripted video.

Irresponsible RO in my opinion.  When my grandson was 12-13 we were at an indoor range with a few early 20 somethings. Cross shooting their targets and screwing around.  Asked my grandson what do you want to do?   "Leave"  Good choice.  Went out and told RO, who was talking to some girls, and he immediately stepped in to do his job.

    Comical, painful, sad, scary.

That's basically what I felt watching that video.
RO, what RO! All I saw was a group of women that were in desperate need of instruction.
Wow, I'm actually exhausted watching that! I really wish I could've been there to help them out.
Good for them for wanting to feel empowered but guns aren't toys and if you are genuinely fearful of a firearm, you need instruction more than most.
I just felt bad for them.
Videos like this serve to remind me, for all the folks who don't know how to use a gun properly but at least try, by going to the range, one can only imagine how many gun owners buy an don't ever bother going to the range or seek quality instruction and falsely believe they're protected.
The Jeff Cooper quote comes to mind.
"Owning a handgun doesn't make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician." ~ Jeff Cooper

And by armed, I believe he meant user ready for conflict.

I used to wonder how you could have me up with holes in the ceiling, floors etc.  After spending a lot of time in ranges I wonder no more.

I know some folks scoff at education as part of a permit system.  I can’t say I do.  It’s sadly lacking in lost folks handling firearms.

    This
I hate to say it but I agree.
Until I joined the Army, the only firearm that I ever shot was a friends 12 gauge in the woods behind his house.  I killed a dead branch on a tree with two shots.

We had firearms safety as part of a class in Jr. High at a public school. It included reloading shot shells, and then shooting skeet on school grounds.

But that was rural Central Texas in the ‘80s.
