Bullet Mold ID

I have an old mold that I bought in a set of mixed molds that I can't ID it has the handles and the mold in one piece and the only #s I can see is 32   40   165 I take it that its a 32 40 caliber and 165 gr but I'm not even sure that is a caliber

    Well it is a real caliber/cartridge.

    A picture of the mold would probably be helpful.
    Does it look like one of these?

    .32-40 is a .38-55 straight tapered to .32 cal. Developed as a target round about 1873 or so. I have two of them, an 1893 Marlin and an 1894 Winchester. Cool old round and fun to shoot!

    How on earth would you resize that case
    Actually, I had to form my brass from .30-30 cases because there is not much new brass available. I just ran the cases through a .32 Special die to to open it up to .32 then ran it through a .32-40 die to removed the shoulder. They come out a little short but usable. I tried reforming .38-55 cases but I had a lot of split cases, so I just stuck to the .30-30's.  8.2 grains of Unique duplicates BP velocities, no reason to hot rod it. So, now that you have the bullet mold, you have the beginning of a project. I've started with less!!  B)
    I did find some .32-40 factory cases last year, haven't used them yet!

    This mold is a Winchester #32-165 bullet mold without the wooden handles.
    Should still work pretty good as long as everything is still aligned properly.

    I usually work the other way around get the gun then the mold but I'm not opposed to doing it bassed akwards it gives me something to look for and finding an old gun like this is as good of a chance as finding a new gun I want
