Shot this today, COULD change my mind about Taurus…

New TX, 22lr with 16 round mags.  This thing ran pretty darn very well for a brand new rimfire, and was very accurate.  Not sure why the thumb safety, seems superfluous, but it’s there for those that want it.  Cant speak to longevity and the mag lips seem a little thin, but I qualified 25 folks, 20 rounds each with only a handful of FTF on a brand new gun.  Not bad!  Priced well….  IF you can find one.  Not buying one because I don’t need it, I’m flush with Glock 44s but if I needed a service type training gun I would probably take a chance on one.

I don’t know about our friend here we may need to do an intervention. Better yet, next rime you need to do a qual roll up with that Single action 45 colt and stare at em’ then say “ I’ll just use this you pansy  **** “.
Aim higher, or get a bigger gun.

I'd have to see it detail stripped. Taurus stuff seems to all be smooth on the outside and crunchy on the inside.

I’m not as Taurus scarred as many of you as I’m still a novice pistolero, but I’ve shot the G-2’s and G-3’s and thought they both performed well. I have read where their QC is vastly improved.
I’m glad your .22 works well.

The one thing I'll say for Taurus, is that they're not afraid to innovate. Like it or hate it, the "Curve" for instance was thinking out of the box.

From the G series I've had the pleasure of shooting lately I have to agree.  They are REALLY popular with new CCW shooters around here because of the relatively good price, lifetime warranty and the fact that new shooters that can’t get their hands of Glocks AND are not jaded agains Taurus.

This .22 is not mine.  It belongs to the Gun store owner that I work with.  He rotates this and a Ruger Mark IV suppressed as his certification guns on CCE quals.

I was playing with one of their new ultralight .22 revolvers and it’s a REALLY NICE little gun!

I will admit I have not detail stripped any new Tauri lately but when you work the action they do mot feel crunchy like he ok’d ones did.

They seem to mostly be getting good reviews. Plus, IIRC, they just released one with an optics cut. THAT is what the G44 is missing (although I'm not sure it would even be feasible).

Nope. I will admit to a certain notion that the  692 revolver, 357 and a 9mm spare cylinder is mildly interesting but after getting stung by that PT 709. Pass.

Bought the Ruger SR-22 and it came with 3 mags. It's not super accurate but I have a Mark II for that.

Nice pistol; not a Taurus fan too but glad to see they're releasing better products. Won't be buying one soon or ever but will eventually see them around here, so good to already have 1st. hand inputs about its performance.

My dad wanted a .22 pistol to go with the Ruger 10/22 folder I loaned him. He's not really a gun guy, but appreciates them as tools that may come in handy. I know he likes my .22/45, but it's not particularly light or compact to keep in a 72 hour emergency kit, which is his intended use for it, besides plinking with grandkids. Anyways, after a lot of research, I determined that An SR22 or TX22 would be most likely to fit the bill, and since the TX22 retails for about $100 less and has great reviews, it's what I got him. He loves it, and I was impressed enough with it, I got one as well.

Bought a Taurus Model 65 (.357 Mag) back in the day. LOVE it.

Went to the gun store with my son and he asked to hold one of the Taurus semi-autos and the clerk said, "You don't want that gun."

    I got angry. I don't mind Taurus.

As of now I’ve fired several G3s and they have impressed me.  I know they’ve had issues in the past but they just might be behind them.

For about the same money you can get the Ruger Security 9 or 9 compact. Far better choice.
