    Feeling combative, are we?
Sorry, I don't buy into the religion of the vaccine - nor the religion of the mask. People need to keep their religion to themselves - regardless of what it may be. By that, I mean "do what you want, but don't expect others to comply."

It isn't about you either. Get over yourself.
What are you talking about? Are you drinking or something? What isn't about me? All I ever stated was my reason for not wanting this particular vaccine. You sound like you're offended because you got it and think that myself and Zorba are indicating that you and the others that got it are stupid or something. And to be clear, I never once said or implied either/or.

I also do find it ironic that you say it isn't about me and list a few people that are combating lung problems yet I'm seeing a pulmonologist about a potential tumor on my lung 😄

I am a libertarian.. The problem is that my choices affect the opportunities of others. My uncle doesn't deserve to have Zorba's unvaccinated, unmasked ass to end his life prematurely. If Zora gives a flying turd about anyone beyond himself, Zorba would have taken measures to protect others beyond himself. He flaunts that and calls anyone that disagrees "Koolaide" drinkers.

So why is one person's desires more important than another persons?

As a libertarian, I would think you'd understand that what you want doesn't make what another person wants wrong. Personal choice is a two way street.

I think it is everyone's personal decision to get (or not get) vaccinated. That said, Zorba's assertion that since it doesn't affect them personally, it shouldn't matter is silly. Then the name calling and calling people that decided to get vaccinated as ":Koolaide drinkers" is a joke. We also have another member that basically spewed complete lies that was never challenged by mods.

Dan Johnson made damn sure truth was told. Sadly, the mods here have let lies and conspiracy theories prosper.

I too am a libertarian. That means I take responsibility for MYSELF. If your uncle has problems, he needs to take responsibility for HIMSELF, not expect everyone else to take care of his problems. If he's had a vaccine, what difference does it make?
That's the fundamental issue with this manufactured "crisis". Never mind that masks on ANYBODY don't do a damn thing and I'm supposed to take this unproven, problematic "vaccine" and endanger myself for someone else who needs to stay indoors?
I don't think so. Its not about your uncle. I'm sorry he has problems, but they're HIS problems, not mine, not society's - regardless of what the left is trying to shove down our throats.
There is a new vaccine that is coming out in the next 3 to  6 months that is supposedly a real vaccine backed by the correct scientific development. If that proves to be the case, I'll gladly take that one - I don't particularly want to get this stupid man-made virus the Chinese have released onto the world, even though its low risk for MOST people.
I've never seen you this way - I suggest you put down the crack pipe or whatever the Hell you're smoking/drinking/snorting. Don't blame ME for your uncle's health problems - he needs to take precautions, not ME or ANYBODY ELSE! I'm not buying your Libertarian stance - you've come off before as a leftist and you're buying into the Left's crap with this.
News flash: No vaccine is as effective as the Left is trying to get everyone to believe. Not a "normal" vaccine, and certainly not this one.

Lies about the vaccine? I have no idea about that, and I don't believe many people do with it being as new as it is. I'm all about personal choice for everyone and I don't belittle others as long as they respect my choosing as well. What I do have issue with is the people that I've seen whom have damn near formed factions over being masked or not. Ive seen videos from both sides that make me lose faith in the way humanity is as a whole. We've somehow gotten so far away from personal responsibility that it's unreal to me. I understand that I'm responsible for me and I would like to think that everyone has the same mindset but apparently that's become lost on many people today. That goes for religion, politics, etc...

Oh, and one more thing. It doesn't matter who gets or doesn't get the vax. This thing is mutating far faster than vaccines can keep up - and it just may be possible the Chinese are getting ready to release another version as well. Vaccines can't keep up, and masks DO NOTHING. Get off CNN, and do your research - see what's happening in India right now with one of the mutations. Scary stuff, and masks haven't helped them either.

There's a reason that i don't watch the news anymore. For one, the old saying to believe half of what you see and none of what you hear does indeed apply especially in today's world. The other reason is that for every "fact" theres a contradictory one that goes against it. Ive finally gotten to the point of just not giving much of a damn about anything except for making it through each day. I remember when my old man told me that we are all born with one foot in the grave but it took me most of my life to realize what he meant by it.

    "Do your research".

Classic line from Qtards. The reason the virus is mutating isn't because idiots think the Chinese intentionally released it. It is because morons think they are immune from this give the virus an opportunity to EVOLVE yet another time.

For a guy that thinks he knows so much about me, I actually agree with you. I think I quit the forum when you started.

That said, you don't know crap about me, so quit assuming.

To be fair, research has shown that vitamin D is the most effective preventative and treatment for covid. Also, before a mod comes by and closes this thread, keep in mind that's why heated discussions get no closure and more than one party usually ends up pissed off. Theres folks here that will no longer engage me due to disagreements. For the record, I have no ill feelings towards anyone.

Jerm, I'm not going here with you any further. Do your research, and knock off the ad hominum (sp?) attacks. I'm out of your religion and I'm out of this conversation.
I've never seen you act this way.

Your own body will create all the vitamin D that it needs. Get your ass in some sun and you will be ok. Beyond that? You are a sheep being manipulated by people that sell vitamin D supplements as opposed to the COVID vaccine whores.

I am not joking. There is no need for vitamin D with adequate sunlight. When my kids were babies, we would intentionally get them some sun to boost their vitamin D. The supplements creep me out. Vitamin D is fat soluble along with A, E, and K. Supplementing it via supplements is crazy voodoo to me. There should be no reason for it.

So you want the moderators to censor what you think is not the truth? Or even if something is a conspiracy, I think we are all grown men capable of our own thoughts and beliefs. That's some Mark Zuckerberg crap right there.

You've laid on PLENTY of "utter crap", trying to play the victim card by making your uncle's health problems MY fault. I've *NEVER* seen you lay on with personal attacks before. If this is the "new" Jerm, why did you even come back here? You sure weren't this way before. I'm not buying your leftist propaganda/religion, and I don't think many others here will either - you're not responding to my arguments like the  Jerm I used to know would have, you're resorting to ad hominum attacks instead, which means you don't *have* a response other than to recite leftist dogma. And yea, I shouldn't have responded to this. I'll try not even opening this thread...
Funny thing is, we don't put up with much of this masking religion down here, and our infection rates are better than lockdown states run by the Mutaween. We all know what's going on in Michigan and that Commie governor you're stuck with.

I am not sure where I have called you a name. If I did, I sincerely apologize. That is not my intent. "Winter flu" is very real in northern climates and you have a damn good point. But the idea of people pushing supplements when they really aren't needed bothers me as well. So does the idea that the quinines are a miracle cure without adequate testing.

My current position is that if normally healthy people are vaccinated, we can as a society protect the weak and vulnerable. It isn't about me or you... it is about protecting the people that are vulnerable in our lives.

I really wanted to avoid this topic and just make fart jokes or something or talk about my ass (Butt Jerm).
Unfortunately, I had to come out and say something-- I didn't want to... butt feel that I had to.  .

Here is the deal... if someone was on here pushing conspiracy theories and flat out lies... Dan would call them out and get rid of the nuts. We would have hearty and spirited conversations, but he would draw the line and call out the lies. Now days... it seems like it is open season for bullcrap and the mods let it fly. It was much different back in the day.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but like and get along with all concerned.  But, I have done the research on my own and talked one on one with the Command Surgeon where I work.  Her background and experience js right in line with what has been going on the last year and a half.  Zorba, masks do make a difference, more for others than yourself.  If you have the virus, but have zero symptom  you still spread it when you, cough, sneeze, talk, exhale.  The mask of any type stops, reduces the virus you spread.  The vaccine while not 100%, does well at warding it off, and keep its severity low.  Even not that the variants are raring their head, we are losing less people to it. Is the vaccine fool proof?  Been tested as long as we would like?  NO, but the science behind it has.

To mask or not to, vax or not, the choice is individual, but once you make your choice you follow the rules that apply to your choice and don't bitch about it.  Anything else makes you a hypocrite.
Logistics cannot win a war, but its absence or inadequacy can cause defeat. FM100-5
