Date with 798

Yesterday evening I took my 798 to moving moose range. It’s been almost two years since I have shot with it. Wanted to shoot without suppressor to test how my shoulder likes the fulle recoil of 30-06.
test was a success. After 30 rounds I still didn’t feel any pain in my shoulder. Although my right hand is still very weak after all these months. This video is from my last 10 shot round.
It took some time to get used to 798 as it has about an inch shorter length of pull than M18 has.
I quess I can manage 375 with the suppressor.

Just running moose. I thought it might be more interesting for you all to watch. Did you watch the video behind the link?

Interested in your shoulder problem. I took a spill in the basement 5 weeks ago, landed on my shoulder, and it's still not right. I don't think I broke anything, but it's sure taking its time healing. A braked .223 would probably reduce me to tears.

Mike, if the pain lasts more than a few days it's time to see the doc buddy.  Shoulders don't get better with time, you only end up with more damage...

I fell on icy yard at work in January. Ripped my rotator cuff. Symptoms were that I simply coulnd’t lift my arm more that about 45˚, downwards…
Orthopedists told me that within time all the muscles will retract and atrophy from their original positions and so fixing the damages would be impossible to operatte and fix after a few months.

My hand was operated but didn’t heal as expected as I got some capsilitis in it and later it got fluid into muscle membranes and joint. I put one pic from the MRI scan where one doesn’t need a trained eye to see the problems.

I highly recommend to consult a doctor with your shoulder problem. I was taught with my case that unless taken care they will get worse as time goes by.

Here’s pics of my shoulder as the healing didn’t go well after the operation. All those white shouldn’t be there at all.

MRI is specific, but not detailed, it is usually  a bit worse when the surgeon gets in there and visual inspects the area. My neighbor has been dealing with adhesive capsulitis after an injury last september, and while it got better with PT at the VA, it was still restricted, finally got him to stop by my office last week after he rode motorcycle to Nashville and he had enough, quite a bit better after a couple of days, very sore at first again getting back on the PT stretches and exercises, the joint has to be balanced and moving or you can do PT until you are blue in the face and get plateaued.

I need to start playing with the 30-06 more.  That is where I started my hunting career, and I have ignored it too much lately.

    Nice shooting!
