Wanting a reasonably priced home defense shotgun, I bought myself a Stoeger M3000 Defense.
Pros: it shot everything I fed it from light birdshot to 3” Heavy Turkey loads
- I like the controls better than my Mossberg 500
- Light and handy size
- sights are fantastic
Cons:
- standard stock is too long for me. I’ll be replacing it with the compact version. I did not like the pistol grip. The new stock will eliminate that feature.
- not a lot of aftermarket support.

- not set up for chokes if that is important to you. It is not for me.
