First 6.5 Creedmoor deer of the season!
Guided a friend to a cull buck this evening. There are a couple spikes on the hit list and they were playing hide and seek this evening. Both popping in and out of brush and trees. One finally stepping out far enough to present a shot at just under 100 yards.

A 147gr ELD-Match through the heart ended it within 30 yards.
Good times with a lot of lessons learned in the Shooter/Spotter linguistics.

Bullet did its job in destruction. No heart left to eat. I was somewhat disappointed. But hey, a great shot. Right where I called it.

There was literally nothing left of the heart but the top of the off side and even that was a
scant remnant.
scant remnant.

Broke the off side rib a d scapula bone on exit. I watched the deer under spotting scope as he ran. I saw the off side leg spinning like a windmill as he ran with blood spurting out the off side. He didn’t make it far before giving up the ghost. A well placed shot with a quick demise. Like hunting should be.
