  Get it wet, put the gun in it(wrapped in Saran Wrap), and put it in a foodsaver bag and vacuum it down to mold it to the gun

  Overnight is fine.  Then take the gun out and let it dry thoroughly.  Final step is a LIGTH rub with a suitable leather conditioner.  Olive oil is great for that.

  I believe I'm going to forswear shrinking the holster for the immediate future.  I appreciate all your recommendations.  The holster now fits nicely my 1911s and I've got side and IWBs that fit the Star just fine.  I don't tote the 1911s very often but I hate to completely size them out.
