This dude can't keep my guns forever. I hope is not some scandalous crook. I will have to go get my UPS proofs of delivery for my records. I have over $1,500 in firearms value at stake here. If this guy still blows me static after two weeks of my patience, I will contact the police about this.
That's what I would do. You should probably email the State Department also. While your at it, contact the CDC and let them know he has covid. You should also gargle with bleach so you don't catch it.

Need to add a few drops of ammonia to the bleach to be effective against the omicron varient.

I forgot that chloramine gas was effective against the new strain and any that will follow. I found that out when I dumped a bunch of bleach in my old dirt basement that the cats had been using as a litter box.

It's 28 degrees in Southwest Oklahoma right now. I can't help but chillin'. For now, I will hold my tongue for at least two weeks. Oh, I now have proofs of delivery in my files for each of the two guns, one from UPS and the other from USPS. This is always prudent to do with high-value mail-ordered items. Yes, right now I have (hopefully) sufficient weaponry for concealed carry outside my home and home defense. One of my new guns held by the gunsmith under quarantine is a Glock 45 9mm and the other is a new Smith & Wesson Governor with silver finish. I'm using a Smith 642 Airweight .38 Special right now with a meager 5-shot capacity for concealed carry. I'd like to have 17 in the magazine in case, Lord forbid, some nutty gunman shows up at my local Walmart El Paso, Tx style. The Governor is to be a sidearm out in the boonies against snakes and other dangerous animals. The Glock, my city carry gun. My Remington 870 pump gun is my current home-defense weapon. This is a brave new world indeed. Man up to it.

Effective, and not nearly as dangerous as the Democrats would have us believe.  Think about it - nine out of ten people who know about cloramine gas only know about it because they have actually mixed bleach with ammonia and lived to tell the tale.

Speaking from experience, to protect yourself against germs and viruses when using public restrooms to urinate, you should first vigorously apply Tabasco sauce to your hands, paying special attention to your finger tips.  Icy Hot or Ben Gay rub will work in a pinch, but the Tabasco is best.

I have a hard time believing Tabasco is worse than bengay on the balls. I have had bengay on my balls and have taken a piss after processing hot peppers. The bengay was something I will NEVER forget!

BTW, I barely made it out of that basement! I literally crawled up the steps blind and gasping for breath. It took some serious remediation steps to clear it from the house.

That only affects the surface. Bengay goes DEEP! I literally saw my balls moving trying to get away! It was painful. I was young and figured I would just wash it off. That made it 3X worse with the water.

Try to wait it out as best you can, and let the guy work things out. Call him occasionally.
You will get your guns eventually.

Is this COVID delay sort of thing common at FFL's nationwide? Just curious. This has been a learning experience. One has to prudently be careful not to cheap out on certain business matters. For all I know, people could be using this COVID thing to make up lying excuses. For all I know, the guy is shacking up with his doll somewhere in Hawaii.

Yes, it is a Travesty of the Highest Magnitude.  You craft an insightful and meaningful thread about the horrors and unreasonable discomfitures imposed upon the innocent Healthy people by this thing called COVID.  I correctly offer a PSA on the established merits of the topical usage of Tabasco sauce as an anti-bacterial / anti-viral agent and then Michakav has to go and post about how he likes to spread a glop of BenGay on his kitchen table and tea-bag it for amusement, and BOOM!  Undeserved Thread Drift!

    Shame, shame, shame.   :(

You would almost come to the conclusion that some of the miscreants using this forum simply do not appreciate your taking the time to share your wealth of experiences and insightful observations.

You bear a Heavy Cross, Burroughs.

Soldier on as best you can, and be sure to give David an extra cookie for me.

Oh...The things we do for entertainment B)

I ordered a custom revolver from a manufacturer, and then waited 7-8 months.
It came in right before we left for Mexico, but the manufacturer didn't inform me it was coming my way, and the FFL holder did not tell me it was there.  Just after the first of the year my FFL holder texts me, and asks when I am going to pick up gun.
I was like, "Oh, I didn't know it was there."
Go the next day and pick it up, but work got crazy with some counseling stuff (not bi-polar or attention whore issues, or anything remotely in that realm...), so I never opened it up until the following day.
That is when I noticed it that the bore was the wrong size.  Oops.
When I got a hold of the manufacturer, the guy in the custom shop who I had at least a 40 minute visit when I ordered it was embarrassed and very apologetic.
Well, I told him I was going to spread it all over forums and social media, and do a hunger strike in protest....Well Maybe NOT :D:smile:
We had another good chat over the phone...Things happen, life happens, it's okay, everyone makes mistakes, but getting sick on purpose like this so I can't get my gun when I want, simply will not be tolerated.
Hopefully, I will get it before late February, and I can do load development and shooting with a good friend.
This thread has brought some joy and laughter to my morning

If you (truly, since I doubt you have any guns...) have "over $1500" invested in those two guns you've got bigger problems than a delayed transfer.

Don't call the police, call a talk radio station, so the TRUTH can get out quicker.
It will probably sound something like this...because writing the newspaper and calling TV stations, probably won't work, as this lady has already discovered...

Oh, and the the revolver that was not in the chambering I had ordered, was sold the very same day to a local guy who wanted it-Problem solved!
Amazing how things work out.  It is so nice when a plan comes together.

At my  age, sometimes you forget things.
They had said 8 months or so once it was ordered, and I have kept that time frame in my head.
    Guess what?  I was wrong.
I ordered this on Sept 7th of last year.  It arrived at my FFL holder on the 15th of December...That was way quicker than expected.
So even if it is April when I get it, I still have only waited the time frame they originally told me.
The hunger strike, and all the other things sounded like a such a reasonable reactions for me being singled out, and taken advantage of....I guess I have been very childish with a spirit of entitlement.
Well, most children don't even do this... :)
Maybe that phrase, "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry," has some practical application after all.
I do have WKRP saved in my cell phone, if I decide to call a radio station.
I didn't realize how a hunting and shooting forum is such a great place to work out my internal thoughts, conflicted as they are.
