Stevens 320 Security 20ga - Range Report

Got the Little Man a new Savage 320
Security in .20ga for HD/YD.

At the range today, the first thing we
did was function check it a few times
with #7.5 Shot.

Then sighted it in at 25yrds with Slugs.
It was slightly left of the tape so I
adjusted it and found, to my pleasant
surprise, the the ghost ring sights are
click adjustable!! That is a NICE touch
on an inexpensive shotgun. After 6
clicks, it was good to go.

Next we patterned it at 5/10/20 yards
with #1 Buck.

5/10 yards weren't bad, but 20 yards
sucked.
Then we patterned #2 Buck and things
were MUCH better!

Think that's the Buck for this gun.
Therefore, his load-out will be a
staggered Buck/Slug/Buck/Slug/Buck.

Which will handle most things inside
and out that he would be called upon
to deal with.
Before we left the range, we ran a tew
drills on loading, reloading, and
general running of the gun fast and
accurately from 7-10 yards using
cheaper #7.5 Shot. He did well.

It's a good gun for $180 that he can
use and learn with. Recoil is minimal
but function seems above its pay
grade. Not bad.
On a side note, I finally found some
410ga ammo and got #6 shot for small
game.

That should work around the yard.

I no longer have a 20 gauge, so there may be one in my future
