Bergara Premier HMR Pro - Range Report & Scope Swap

Picked up my new Bergara over the weekend and did a little horse trading.

Mentioned to my buddy at the LGS that I was going to mount a Leupold Mark 6 with Tremor 2 reticle on the Bergara but that I didn’t really like that scope or the reticle. He asked if I wanted to sell or trade it to him personally and I asked what he had. After going back and forth on the options, he offered me a like new Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56 FFP w/ EBR-7c MRAD Reticle…….

Sold!!!
We’d both won the scopes in competition, so neither of us were out any money. And even though his scope was technically worth more, he really wanted my Mark 6 and I didn’t. Good trade!
Now I had a new scope I didn’t want to put on the Bergara (too big) and needed to do some swapping of my own. So, I took the Leupold VX-3i 6.5-20x off my .308 Win Heavy Rifle and put that on the Bergara. The new Vortex now had a more appropriate home on my dedicated LR rifle.

She seems to accommodate the Vortex well.

And the Bergara looks sharp with the Leupold.

I didn’t like the Trigger Tech Trigger that came with the Bergara, so I swapped it for my favorite style Timney Trigger. A two-stage trigger that I adjusted down to 12oz.
Used a Leupold Backcountry base, OPS2 rings, and added a Surefire brake to round things out.

Overall pleased with the rifle. It’s light in comparison to most of my other .308 rifles, though not a light rifle. The stock is pleasantly comfortable and adjustable. The bolt is smooth and the bolt knob designed well. Added features are the floating bolt head, a side bolt release, internal bedding block chassis, and AICS compatible bottom metal. Multiple flush cups for sling attachments, ceracoated stainless steel barreled action, and a 20” 10T barrel make it a winner.
She shoots pretty good too with factory ammo!

Got her zeroed and ready to hunt.

Kind of bittersweet when factory rounds do that though.
I kind of expect that with TAP ammo...
