RIP to one of the longest reigning monarchs in history

Guess we'll have to get used to saying "King Charles" now.

I know it comes with the territory, but I always felt like she was head and shoulders above the rest of the world "leaders" when it comes to class and grace. Yes, I know their PM does most (all?) of the heavy lifting, and maybe that has a lot to do with my perception. Setting aside my beliefs when it comes to monarchies of any flavor, I think the world is a poorer place following her passage.

Don't think any of those in line can meet the bar she set

THIS:  25 years after the Battle of Britain, she says, "We're going to set a gigantic stone plaque into the middle of the floor of Westminster Abbey that reads 'REMEMBER WINSTON CHURCHILL'"

    The woman got it. :'(

Every year on 9/11 the Star Spangled Banner is played at Buckingham Palace, the Queen started it on 9/11/2001, I am saddened buy her passing, i always though she was a great lady.

I'm not exactly a fan of "Perfidious Albion", but the Queen was the last of a generation the likes of which we'll never see again. Goddess Bless her, and may she dance in joy!

This was a person. a woman, of absolute global significance , she held true to her beliefs and her desire to work for her people , whoever they were, wherever they were.
She was a person that has always had my utmost respect.

    Rip, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.
I'm not sure that the world will ever know another like you.

    As an aside
She was heard to say, after Prince  Philip had moved forward and whispered something in her ear
"Yes, You do have to talk to these people"
Prince Philip wasn't quite the "Stuffed Shirt" that some of his peers were and didn't suffer fools at all.
Still they had 73 years of Marriage, quite an achievement in a high profile and I'd image very demanding
    lifestyle.

    Here's something to consider...
Today is the first day, of most of the members here lives, of waking up WITHOUT HM Queen Elizabeth being the monarch of England.

Imagine the number of Brits in this same situation, and that have NEVER sang "God save the King"
I cannot imagine them changing a major word in "The Star Spangled Banner" at this stage of my life

I would have LOVED to stand in her trophy room and heard the hunting stories, my maternal grandmothers side of the family are of UK descent, we were quite aware of the monarchy growing up, the Queen was made up of some stout materials.

Catching snippets of the proceedings. . .

Does anyone else find it a bit wrong that an English monarch, of this particular vintage, is being transported around Scotland in a hearse made by Mercedes Benz?

    Saw That,
The one the other day had a single B on the back, much more appropriate.
Don't really understand the switch the the Merc.

The Hearse to her last rest had the leaping cat on the back. Much better.

Personally I prefer Prince Phillip’s hearse.  A vintage Defender is in my bucket list of vehicles.
