A little hurried since I only had a few hours in the afternoon and this range is a very special place for me because they used to be my partner so I have to stop and catch up with a lot of very nice folks which REALLY cuts into shooting time 🤣.  But slowly I’m getting a bunch of guns online!  AND I MIGHT start doing some training for them again, they gave me some things to think about👍

Temps in the high 30s, slight overcast with just a nice steady breeze coming up the Valley.
Did I mention I love this range ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Shooting is from NICE covered very solid shooting benches.
These are 100 yard targets, 200 yard steel and if you look to the right into the woods, all sorts of steel hidden throughout to about 400 yards.

General setup.  My bench gear is still in the bowels of my garage so the well used bags they have laying around at the range for general use have to do for our purposes today.  You can set up mobile target stands anywhere you want.  The close one on the left was another shooter sighting in a pistol and a pistol caliber carbine for HD.  Then you can see targets at 50, 100 and 200 in this picture.

Decided to sight in the Kimber Hunter with a different Nosler hunting ammo.  I’m really loving this gun…

100 yards.  Slighter top right, quick adjust, two shots, quick shot at a 6” steel at 200.  Done in 4 rounds.  This rifle is NOT finicky when it comes to commercial ammo.

Then sighted in the Ruger 357 with a Leupold EER handgun scope 2X at 50 yards with 158gr HP Commercial Winchester ammo.  Rang the 200 yard steel twice using holdover I pulled out of my ass since I’ve never fired this handgun at that distance.  That’ll do..

The jewel of they day was the H&R commemorative trap door.
Just using commercial ammo, Grizzly Cowboy loads.

50 Yard cold bore 2 shot group!!!!  That’ll do for local stuff 👍
If Custer’s boys had been carrying THIS gun/ammo the outcome might have been different. 😎

POA was middle of the red square with the rear sight at “normal” carry setting, so I have to figure out what I’m doing, sight wise…. But managed to ring a 200 yard 12” steel on first try just guessing at ladder sight settings so there is that.  Recoil was negligible!

All in all a very productive afternoon 👍👍

It’s a °IIIII° thing 😎
